Hanoi School of Public Health received the Organizational Excellence Award
The 14th World Congress on Public Health took place in Kolkata, India from 11 – 15 February 2015. The congress was organized by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) in collaboration with national public health associations that are members of the Federation. The congress is a major international event which is supported by UN Agencies, primarily the World Health Organization and UNICEF and is closely followed for its most valuable recommendations and inputs in global public health concerns.

Sakura Science Program
The Research Institute for Humanity and Nature has established the Sakura Science Program which brings the experts/professional and lectures from the field of Ecohealth, Future Earth in Japan and also from other countries in the world; most of them are partners in Asia.

The FBLI Mid-term Research Workshop
About 30 researchers from four countries of Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and China gathered in Da Nang this February to attend the Ecohealth Field Building Leadership Initiative (FBLI) Mid-term Research Workshop and 2nd Regional Core Group (RCG) Member meeting. The 4-day event (starting from 2nd February) offered a chance for FBLI researchers to share experiences and update on their progress. About 15 research papers have been planned toward the end of the research program.

The 3rd International Faecal Sludge Management Conference 2015
Considering the current situation of Asia in FSM aspects and Vietnam’s efforts to better understand the full spectrum of urban sanitation service delivery models for the country. FSM3 has been organized in Hanoi, with the local support from the Institute of Environmental Science & Engineering (IESE), the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE), the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and the Ministry of Construction (MOC) as national partners. It is an unique opportunity to learn from exciting regional innovations to face the coming challenges. The conference also bring together professionals across the world to share experiences and knowledge in order to collaborate and build new partnerships, while also addressing practical applications and solutions and effective adaption. The conference was held from 19 January to 21 January 2015 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The SEAOHUN Foundation (based in Chiang Mai) Vacancy Positions (closed)
Established in 2011, the South East Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) is a consortium of universities and faculties in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam that are collaborating to build capacity and academic partnerships with government, national, and regional stakeholders to respond to outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases in the South East Asia region, adopting the One Health approach. The Foundation has responsibility to the SEAOHUN Executive Board for the operations and management of the South East Asia regional office in Chiang Mai.

International Livestock Research Center (ILRI) Vacancy Positions
The Returning Experts Programme implemented by the Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) offers two International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) positions for returning Asian experts who have studied at German universities and would like to participate in an interesting international field of work with ILRI based in Hanoi, Vietnam but working throughout the region. ILRI is playing a central role in the development and implementation of the CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs) in South East Asia, including the CRP on Humidtropics as well as the CRP on Livestock and Fish.

The "Resource Recovery and Safe Reuse Stakeholder Work-shop" will be held on December 4th 2014, at Hanoi Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. This 1-day workshop is organised as part of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) funded collaborative Resource Recovery and Safe Reuse (RRR) Project.

Inter-sectoral collaboration for One Health implementation in Vietnam: training, research and EIDs control polices
The Sun Yat-sen University together with Duke University and South China Agricultural University have co-organized the first international symposium on One Health Research in China to bring together professionals from different countries to deepen and encourage this multidisciplinary research approach. The symposium was held from 22 November to 23 November 2014 in Guangzhou, China.

Taskforce workshop summarizes case studies and develops food safety risk assessments
The seminar "Taskforce summarizing case studies and developing guidelines for food safety risk assessment" took place on November 18, 2014 in Quang Binh province Dong Hoi city, by the Center for Health Research. Public Health and Ecosystems (CENPHER), hosted by the University of Public Health. This is an event on the sidelines of the 7th Annual Meeting of the Department of Food Safety, Ministry of Health with the theme focusing on food safety issues of street food.

TASKFORCE on Risk Assessment in Food Safety – an effort to bring policy and research together
The essence of “TASKFORCE on Risk Assessment” is to gather policy makers and researchers, working on food safety, who are from Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), research institutes and universities in Vietnam, provincial food safety and animal health departments to exchange information and research results, leading to better policy decisions. This year TASKFORCE meeting celebrated its third instalment on 18th November 2014 in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province as the side event of the 7th Annual conference on Food Safety – a focus on stree food of the Ministry of Health. The former aimed at reviewing all risk assessment case studies conducted within the framework of various related food safety research and seeking consultations for the two drafted Manuals on using Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) and Chemical Risk Assessment in food safety.
