Regional workshop: Capacity building for urban sanitation and public health planning (October 20-22, 2015)

Join us for a Regional Workshop on Building Partnerships on Urban Sanitation taking place in Asia, West Africa, the Middle East and Latin America in 2015 and 2016, co-organized by Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development. With the aim to help local experts and agencies in the industry build capacity in urban sanitation planning and public health. The workshop was attended by representatives of the State agencies, the private sector and civil society organizations. The workshop takes place over three days and will cover the latest developments in urban sanitation and hygiene, as well as related planning and technology. Lectures, interactive activities and multimedia presentations will be provided, with emphasis on materials and tools developed and tested by the Institute of Water Science and Technology. Swiss Confederation (Eawag) and Vietnam Ecosystem & Public Health Research Center (CENPHER).

Workshop participants will learn about appropriate sanitation solutions, with a focus on how best to improve sanitation services and impact the health of people in their area or city. Learning materials and case studies will be put in place to ensure local lessons are captured.
