Signing ceremony for the partnership framework of Vietnam One Health Partnership for zoonoses

In Vietnam, COVID-19 pandemic has made seriously consequences on almost sectors of economic. COVID-19 also proved for predictions about challenges which The World is facing off such as the appearance of new zoonotic diseases.  Begin from interaction between human – wild animal – ecosystem, those can make very serious consequences for human health, livelihood, the development of economic and further.

One Health Approach (OHA) is the closely-knit health status between human, animal and ecosystem.  OHA cope with threat of infectious diseases in the interactions of human – animal – ecosystem is the combination between different ministries, departments and sectors.

Hanoi, March 23rd, The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Ministry of Health implemented “Signing ceremony for the partnership framework of Vietnam One Health Partnership for zoonoses” period 2021 – 2025. The main objective of agreement in partnership framework is decrease the spread of zoonotic pathogens from animal and ecosystem to human.

One Health Partnership (OHP) framework has been formed to strengthen the sustainable of each OH partner. Implementing the commitment of Vietnam in Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) to 2024 and GHSA to 2030.

On this occasion, long-time and actively partners of OHP about preventing zoonotic diseases include National Director, Representation of EU, ADB, WHO, UNICEF, FAO, JICA, KOICA… made the plan of OH activities in Vietnam.

Dr. Pham Duc Phuc -  Deputy Director of Center for Public Health and Ecosystem, Coordinator of Vietnam One Health University Network participated in this Signing ceremony.

Partners affirmed their support and highly commit to support and implement objective of OHP framework: “Decreasing the spread of zoonotic pathogens from animal and ecosystem to human and the antibiotic  through increasing the multi-sectoral combination using OHA.
