After more than two months of performing the task in supporting the health sector of Ho Chi Minh City in COVID-19 response, a part of Working Team No. 5, including Dr. Duong Hong Quan and 45 students who collected samples for testing, returned to HUPH on the evening of October 1 upon the completion of their assignment. Previously, the other part of Working Team No. 5, including Assoc. Prof. Ha Van Nhu, MD, Ph.D., Mr. Nguyen Duy Tien, MPH, and 55 students carrying out activities of contact tracing in Ho Chi Minh City, also completed their mission and returned to HUPH on 2nd September.
Assigned tasks were performed by Working Team No. 5 in Tan Binh District, District 7, District 8, and Binh Chanh District, supporting the health sector of Ho Chi Minh City with important tasks in pandemic response, including data management, data analysis, case epidemiological investigation, contact tracing and sample collection for testing. In recognition of the contributions of five HUPH teams of volunteers to support localities in the fight against COVID-19, the HUPH collectives and individuals were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Government and the Ministry of Health. Specifically, Dr. Duong Hong Quan received the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister; 71 individuals and 1 group (the Laboratory Center) received the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Health for their outstanding contributions to the fight against COVID-19. In addition, 52 individuals and 1 collective (HUPH Youth Union) were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Hanoi City Youth Union for activities to support the Hanoi city in contact tracing and sample collection for testing in two districts of Bac Tu Liem and Dong Da.
