  • In Vietnam, COVID-19 pandemic has made seriously consequences on almost sectors of economic. COVID-19 also proved for predictions about challenges which The World is facing off such as the appearance of new zoonotic diseases.  Begin from interaction between human – wild animal – ecosystem, those can make very serious consequences for human health, livelihood, the development of economic and further.


  •       In January 17th , 2021, as part of food safety risk communication activities, the research group of the SafePORK project from Center for Public Health and Ecosystem Research (CENPHER), Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) collaborated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) of Tien Lu district, Center for Disease Control and prevention (CDC) of Tien Lu District, People's Committee of Le Xa commune conducted a training session to improve the knowledge and practice of co


  • In 17 Nov, Center for Public health and Ecosystem Research collaborated with International Livestock Research Institute, Vietnam University of Agriculture and Sub-Department of Animal health of Tien Lu district, Hoa Binh province implemented a training session which aim to enhance knowledge and skill about pork safety risk communication for medical and veterinary staffs.

  • VTV1, the leading Vietnamese state-run media outlet, recently interviewed Hung Nguyen, regional representative for East and Southeast Asia and senior scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), and Tuyet Hanh Tran, associate professor at the Hanoi University of Public Health (HUPH). The interview explored the connections between ecosystem disruptions and emerging and re-emerging infectious human diseases, especially zoonotic diseases (those shared by animals and people) in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.


  • The research project “Market-based approaches to improving the safety of pork in Vietnam” (SafePORK) aims to reduce the burden of food-borne disease in informal, emerging and niche markets. SafePORK will develop and evaluate light-touch market-based approaches to improving food safety, while safeguarding livelihoods in the pork sector. This project is coordinated by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in collaboration with HUPH, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, and National Institute of Animal Science and private sectors. 


  • After the first case in Wuhan-China at the end of 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing many disturbances in the lives of people in the affected countries. According to WHO, as of April 15, 2020, there have been nearly two million cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection and more than 120,000 deaths, bringing the whole global economy to a halt. The prolonged pandemic has completely changed the lives and activities of people in other countries, including Vietnam.


  • On the morning of March 7, the Center for Research on Public Health and Ecosystems (CENPHER) - University of Public Health (HUPH) and the International Animal Research Institute (ILRI) presented 25 posters and 600 leaflets. on communication on the prevention of helminthiasis, tapeworm larvae and pork tapeworm for Da Bac District Health Center - Hoa Binh
