FREE GRAIZING DUCK AND AVIAN INFLUENZA IN VIETNAM

Since 2013, H5N1 bird flu has been circulating in South East Asia resulting in high mortality rate in the bird species in the area. In Vietnam, it still affect the poultry such as ducks and chicken, threatening local economy, public health, farmers' livelihood and food security.  Free grazing ducks in the South of Vietnam has been one of the sources of H5N1 bird flu. To investigate the situation, the Royal Veterinary College (RCV) London, the Vietnam National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) , Department of Animal Health (DAH) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) under the fund of the Bristish Council conducted a research on grazing ducks and H5N1.
